Il progetto riguarda la costruzione delle abitazioni per i dipendenti della Cementeria di Merone, uno degli impianti industriali più importanti del nord Italia per la produzione di cemento. L’intervento sorge in prossimità di un’ansa del fiume Lambro, ed è separato da questo da un’area verde alberata. La soluzione realizzata, definita in seguito alla valutazione di diverse ipotesi insediative, consiste in un edificio da sette piani e, dalla parte opposta di via Dante Alighieri, da quattro edifici da quattro piani. Il volume alto è disposto secondo un orientamento Nord-Sud, ed è costituito da un impianto simmetrico che si riflette nell’impaginato della facciata.

The project regards the construction of the apartments for the Merone Cement Factory, one of the most important industrial plants in Northern Italy for the cement production. The intervention rises up close to a bight of the river Lambro, and it is separated from it by a green area. The realized project, defined after the evaluation of several different layouts, is constitued by a seven-storey building and, on the opposite side of via Dante Alighieri, by four four-storey buildings. The tall volume is oriented north-south, and characterized by a symmetrical plan that is reflected by the treatment of the facade.
